Age categories (restrictions) of computer games

(Please read following advices in order to fill the name and age category of game!)

Most parents don’t know that there is an age category on games. The producers of games receive assessments from several world-class organizations which declare that the game is suitable for particular age categories and not suitable for the other age categories. Without this kind of assessment, they are unable to sell the game on the domestic and international market. The assessment is placed on the front side of the game case and on the disc with special signs, as it can be directly seen. There are a few organization recognized on the world to approve the age categories. Of which, ESRB and PEGI are the biggest of them. These organizations run operations independently. ESRB is an abbreviation of Entertainment Software Rating Board, which monitors the games launched in Canada and USA. There’s almost no game launched on market without assessment of this organization as USA is the biggest buyer or customer of the game market. Thus we can see the classifications of the current computer games from this organization. For more information about age categories of the games, please visit this organization’s web site

For example: If you type Counter strike on the search part of this site and press search, the following information appears, which is that Counter Strike game is developed by Electronic Arts company and this game is classified as M17+ or for matures.
