Research report of the working group to transit TV broadcasting into digital technology

A working group, which was established by the Resolution No. … of Chairman and CEO of the Communications Regulatory Commission with the purpose to implement the “National Program for transition of radio & TV broadcasting into digital technology”, which was approved by the Resolution No. 275 of the Government of Mongolia in 2010, is working to conduct researches for the following fields and release the relevant decisions based on the research results.

The working group has conducted the researches for the following fields and presented to the management of ITPTA and CRC, including:

  • Regards with the research on model of digital TV network to be established through the country, tower location, coverage and transmission capacity (To review the presentation of the working group)
  • Regards with researching transmission facilities, connection centers and infrastructure of digital TV and making a proposal on general plan (To review the presentation of the working group)
  • Regards with the economic study and budget required to transit analogue TV broadcasting into digital technology
  • To determine technical terms and requirements for set top box and to make a proposal on manufacturing and supplying the set top box to the market. Reports represented.

Digital TV forum - 2011

In relation with the approval of the National Program of Mongolia to transmit the TV broadcasting into digital technology, “Digital TV Forum” was successfully organized on 22-23 November, 2011. The Forum had the foreign representatives from Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communication, Japan (MIC), National Communications Commission, Taiwan (NCC), Korean Communications Commission (KCC), European digital video broadcasting (DVB) organizations and a digital broadcaster company, Rohde & Schwarz of Germany, etc. Digital TV working groups has presented their research reports to the Forum, which discussed the reports.
